Sirius XM Lands Manchester United, Stock Explodes

By Noah Davis

This is a surprise. Sirius XM inked a multi-year deal with Manchester United and watched its stock price soar to a 52-week high.

The agreement makes the Internet venture the official U.S. radio broadcaster of the English Premier League club. Sirius XM will air Man U’s official club broadcast.

“Manchester United is one of the most famous and widely followed sports franchises in all of the world and we’re thrilled to offer our listeners access to every one of their Premier League matches,” Sirius president and chief content officer Scott Greenstein said in a release. “Fans across the U.S. will be able to tune in to live play-by-play through their radios, through their computers and through the Sirius XM App.”
