A top ABC exec tells The Observer that outgoing GMA EP Ben Sherwood has “an open invitation to return to ABC News.” In the meantime, “Disney will endeavor to find a role for Sherwood within the company that he can fill in California.”
Broadcasting & Cable quotes spokesman Jeffrey Schneider, who says: “We would be very happy for Ben to have stayed at GMA for a long time. He is a class act and a great producer who has produced the two most successful seasons in that show’s history.”
