Shepard Smith on Why Reporters Were Arrested: ‘Well That’s a Good Question’

By Jordan Chariton

This afternoon, Shepard Smith sounded off on police who arrested two reporters last night covering protests in Ferguson, Missouri.

“It’s not in some cordoned off area…no this is in a McDonald’s, an open McDonald’s restaurant, where you can drive through and get a number three. But then they [the police] were all of a sudden clearing it out, and they wanted it clear right then. So the reporter is picking up his bag and stuff and starts videotaping…arrested. A reporter for the Washington Post newspaper. Who arrested him? The officer wouldn’t give his name. What was he under arrest for? Well that’s a good question.”
