Shaquille O'Neal Introduces The World To Tout

Shaquille O’Neal introduced the world to Tout.com Wednesday, when the veteran center announced his retirement from the NBA via their social media platform.

The iPhone app allows users to record 15-second video messages that are pushed through through Twitter, Facebook, SMS and email.

“In addition to being one of the greatest basketball players of our time, Shaquille O’Neal is one of the savviest social media influencers out there,” said Michael Downing, founder and CEO of Tout. “We were thrilled that he instantly understood the potential of Tout. Shaq now effectively has his own real-time media network through Tout, instantly updating his nearly four million Twitter followers and two million Facebook fans, determining the programming solely with his iPhone.”

The free application is available in the Apple App Store and will be in the Android Store in July.

O’Neal will continue to use Tout as his own personal media network as he heads into a life outside the NBA.

You aren’t going to land a bigger athlete in the social media world than O’Neal. Shaq is the perfect guy to spread the word about a new product. Let’s see how long after O’Neal retirement that we’re talking about Tout.
