Fox News Channel host Sean Hannity has apologized for a discussion on his radio show that suggested First Lady Michelle Obama had “scrubbed” her Twitter account of any mention of Hillary Clinton.
The story, published by YourNewsWire, falsely stated that Obama had “deleted” all tweets on her @MichelleObama account had been deleted “all the way back to 2013,” though Mrs. Obama instead uses the Twitter handle @FLOTUS (YourNewsWire also incorrectly reported that tweets about Clinton were deleted from the @FLOTUS account).
The internet report implied tweets about Clinton were removed in response to the FBI’s investigation of new emails that broke last Friday. “Wow. That means they know it’s huge,” Hannity said on his radio show.
