CNBC anchor Maria Bartiromo and MSNBC hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough have been tapped to speak at a pair of industry events.
Bartiromo will be the featured speaker at the Women in Cable Television (WICT) luncheon at the NCTA Show in Chicago this June.
Brzezinski and Scarborough will MC the Mirror Awards, which are presented by the S.I. Newhouse School at Syracuse University every year, honoring the best in media reporting. The pair will present the Fred Dressler Achievement Award to their new boss, Comcast CEO Brian Roberts.

Featured Speaker at WICT Signature Luncheon
June 14 Event Highlights Day One of The Cable Show in ChicagoChantilly, VA – Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) today announced that Maria Bartiromo will be the featured speaker on June 14 in Chicago at the 2011 WICT Signature Luncheon – a highlight of the opening day of NCTA’s Cable Show. Bartiromo is the Emmy Award-winning anchor of CNBC’s “Closing Bell with Maria Bartiromo,” and serves as anchor and managing editor of the nationally syndicated “Wall Street Journal Report with Maria Bartiromo.”
The WICT Signature Luncheon premiered in 2010 in conjunction with the opening of The Cable Show. The sold-out luncheon featured distinguished cable leaders and media luminaries who came together to recognize the year’s inspiring achievements in support of women in the cable industry.
This year’s event will feature media thought leaders and pays tribute to excellence in cable’s portrayal of women by bestowing exemplary programming with the esteemed WICT Signature Accolade Award.

Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough of MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe’ to emcee awards ceremony June 7
Luncheon will be held 11:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at The Plaza Hotel in New York City
Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough, co-hosts of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” will serve as emcees at the fifth annual Mirror Awards ceremony June 7.
The event will be held from 11:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at The Plaza Hotel, Fifth Avenue at Central Park South, New York City. The awards are sponsored by Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. Information about sponsorship levels and registration are available online.
Prior to joining MSNBC in 2007, Brzezinski was an anchor of the “CBS Evening News Weekend Edition” and a CBS News correspondent who frequently contributed to “CBS Sunday Morning” and “60 Minutes.” Her memoir, “All Things At Once,” was a New York Times bestseller. Her second book, “Knowing Your Value,” examines the role of women in the workplace and the fight to gain recognition and a fair salary. It’s due out May 3.
Scarborough is a former Congressman (R-Fla.) and was the publisher and editor of the award-winning newspaper “The Florida Sun.” Before “Morning Joe,” he hosted “Scarborough Country,” a primetime news show the San Francisco Chronicle called “must-see TV.” He is the author of the New York Times bestseller “The Last Best Hope: Restoring Conservatism and America’s Promise” and “Rome Wasn’t Burnt in a Day.”
“Morning Joe” features interviews with top newsmakers and politicians and in-depth analysis of the day’s biggest stories. The New Yorker describes the show as “appallingly entertaining,” Time Magazine calls it “revolutionary” and the New York Times ranked it as the top news show of 2008.
The Mirror Awards luncheon ceremony will include the presentation of juried awards in seven categories:

The Mirror Awards, established by the Newhouse School in 2006, honor the reporters, editors and teams of writers who hold a mirror to their own industry for the public’s benefit.
