Sarah Palin Responds to the Media: ‘America must be stronger than the evil displayed last week’

Sarah Palin released a 7-minute video on her Facebook page this morning responding to the criticism she received following Saturday’s shooting spree in Tucson.

The former VP nominee called some of the talk about her, “irresponsible statements from people trying to apportion blame for this terrible event.” Palin was referring to a map — posted ten months ago on her Facebook page — adorned with targets of congressional districts her backers hoped to overtake — including that of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords.

Palin quoted former President Ronald Reagan who said, “We must reject the idea that every time a law is broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker.” Palin then accused some in the media of “blood libel…”

“Journalists and pundits should not manufacture a blood libel that serves only to incite the very hatred and violence that they purport to condemn. That is reprehensible.”
