Sara Haines Joins ABC News Next Month

By Chris Ariens

As we reported last week, Sara Haines is leaving NBC News for ABC News. This morning, ABC News president Ben Sherwood sent a note to his staff, obtained by TVNewser, with more details. “Starting September 3, she’ll be a New York-based correspondent for all our programs and platforms,” Sherwood writes. “Her commitment to teamwork, joyful ability to connect with audiences and her boundless curiosity and energy will fit perfectly here at ABC News.”

Haines, a former NBC page, joined the “Today” show in 2002 as a production coordinator. Most recently, she’s been a correspondent for the fourth hour of the show.
