From 1995-2007, she was the west coast producer for “Dateline.” Most recently, she was an independent producer in Los Angeles.

Team:

I have some exciting news to share: Sandy Gleysteen will be joining CBS This Morning as Senior Producer of our Los Angeles unit.

Sandy will be the point of contact for our LA-based producers, overseeing all west coast editorial planning for CTM, as well as daily CTM news production in the bureau.

Most recently Sandy was an independent producer and executive producer for Maria Shriver’s annual women’s conference, which just last year had 20,000 attendees.  But, Sandy spent many years at NBC News where she was west coast producer for Dateline.  She specialized in producing content and projects on high profile newsmakers , world leaders and major celebrities.  Sandy also worked with NBC News Specials, leading teams on such major stories Hurricane Katrina, for which she won a Peabody Award.

She is a graduate of Yale University and has lived in Los Angeles since 1986, meaning she knows how to pronounce “Sepulveda.”   Sandy is a member of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, sits on the Forbes Executive Women’s Board, and until she took this job, was Chair of the California Commission on the Status of Women.

This is a hugely important position as we continue to grow the quality of this broadcast.  We really took our time finding the right fit.  Please join me in welcoming Sandy.  Her first day is March 5th.

Chris
