“Good Morning America” celebrated Sam Champion this morning on his last day at ABC News before he joins The Weather Channel. Champion did the “ceremonial turning over of the galoshes” to Ginger Zee, who will replace him as the primary “GMA” weather anchor.
“These boots are the biggest boots in the world,” an emotional Zee said. “I will never be able to be you or fill them …. you have been the best partner I could have ever asked for coming to this national stage on the weekends and out in the storms. I couldn’t have had a better leader.” Watch:
