S.E. Cupp’s Valentine’s Day Message: ‘The Real World Is Rejection’

For those singles still a little down on this day after Valentine’s Day, CNN’s S.E. Cupp’s message from earlier this week on the truth about love might be the smack of truth you need to pick yourselves up.

Cupp mentioned a tweet from a New Jersey kindergarten teacher who told of a note sent to parents encouraging children who exchange Valentine’s cards in school to prepare one for each classmate to avoid hurting feelings.

“It will also avoid reality,” she said. “In the real world, feelings gets hurt. Not everyone gets a date to the prom, not every girl gets a proposal, not every guy gets a trophy wife or husband. The real world is rejection,” she added, also throwing in for good measure that “Santa wasn’t real.”
