Ronan Farrow Takes Heat for Malaysia Airlines Tweet, Doesn’t Air Footage

By Jordan Chariton

After taking heat for a tweet he sent out this morning teasing an exclusive with the partner of the only American adult on Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, Ronan Farrow deleted the Tweet, then decided not to air the footage on his show.

Farrow tweeted this morning: “1pm @RonanDaily exclusive: we were on camera with the partner of Phillip Wood as she received the wrenching new finding that no one survived.”

A CNN editor was among those who called out Farrow.

After deleting the original tweet, Farrow sent out another tease for his 1pmET show.

On the show, Farrow told his audience he was interviewing Sarah Bajc , the girlfriend of Philip Wood, an IBM executive who was on board Flight 370, when she heard the news, all but confirming the plane crashed in the Indian Ocean. But Farrow said he wouldn’t be airing the footage “out of respect for her privacy and her dignity.” He read an email from Bajc, which said because the Malaysian Prime Minister based his announcement on data only, with no confirmed wreckage, she still has “no real closure.”
