Robin Roberts To Return To ‘GMA’ In ‘Weeks’

By Alex Weprin

ABC News “Good Morning America” anchor Robin Roberts made her “special announcement” today, and as expected, she announced that her course of treatment is at a point where she will be able to return to “GMA” in ” a matter of weeks, not months.”

In fact, Roberts hopes to return in February, though she said she would rely on her doctor’s advice before deciding on an exact date.

“The last bone marrow tests showed no abnormalities,” Roberts said. “The doctors were waiting for all this information before they could tell me I could begin the process of returning home.”

Next week Roberts will do a “dry run” at ABC, waking up bright and early at 4 AM, going to the studio for hair and makeup (“well, hair later” she quipped), interacting with staff and rehearsing in front of the studio lights after the program is over.

She explains it all in the video, after the jump.
