Another sign of the increased ties between NBC and MSNBC: Brian Williams anchored the cable news network’s live coverage of the Roberts hearings this afternoon. He began anchoring at noon. He blogged on the Daily Nightly while sitting at the anchor desk:
“As we say in the newsroom, ‘at any other time’ this would be the dominant story of the week. While we’ll cover these hearings thoroughly, they will still likely fall below our headline coverage of the day out of the Gulf region.”
Williams hosted an NBC News Special Report at 3:20pm. NBC was the only network to take Roberts’ opening statement live, according to an e-mailer. BW handed the reigns to Chris Jansing around 3:35pm…
