Rob Dibble Takes a Break From the Broadcast Booth

By Alex Weprin

Washington Nationals color commentator Rob Dibble is taking two games off, following some controversial comments he made about Nats phenom Stephen Strasburg and about some fans sitting behind home plate.

The Washington Post‘s Adam Kilgore has more on the story, including a quote from Nationals president Stan Kasten.

In a nutshell, Dibble criticized Strasburg after his latest possible injury, lamenting his lack of “toughness.” That comes just a week and a half or so after he suggested that two female fans sitting behind home plate were there because “there must be a sale tomorrow going on here or something.”

Now it seems, he is paying the price, although Kasten told Kilgore that Dibble simply “asked for some time off.”
