RNC Chairman: ‘Political Bias’ At Fault For Lack of Network Coverage Next Monday

By Alex Weprin

The chairman of the Republican national Committee, Reince Priebus, says that political bias is the reason the “big three” broadcast networks won’t be covering day one of the Republican National Convention on Monday.

Priebus told CNN’s Peter Hamby:

“I am pretty disappointed with the networks for not covering us on Monday, but we are getting good at dealing with the mainstream media.”

CBS, NBC and ABC will be giving the RNC an hour of primetime Tuesday-Thursday, but nothing on Monday. Of course, PBS will be airing the RNC Monday, as will pretty much every cable news channel. Also, the DNC isn’t getting any special treatment, as it too will be getting three days of coverage from the big three broadcasters.
