Live with Kelly and Michael co-hosts Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan won the Emmy for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host at the Daytime Emmy Awards Sunday, though neither attended the ceremony.
“What’d you do last night? We won an Emmy,” joked Ripa at the top of Monday’s show, which featured the co-hosts walking on stage carrying their Emmys–a welcome break from the drama that has surrounded Strahan’s departure from the show to take a full-time role at Good Morning America.
Charles Osgood accepted the Emmy for CBS Sunday Morning, which won as for Outstanding Morning Program–beating out nominees including Good Morning America and Today. Café CNN was named the winner as best morning show in Spanish.
On Friday, Emmys were handed out in other daytime categories, including a new one–Best Musical Performance in a Talk or Morning Show, which went to Rachel Platten for her performance of Fight Song on GMA. Adele‘s performance on Today was a contender in the category.
