Ratings: Hillary Clinton’s Back-to-Back CNN, Fox News Interviews

Hillary Clinton capped off the television portion of her book tour yesterday with back-to-back interviews on CNN and Fox News. Bret Baier and Greta Van Susteren’s joint Fox News interview delivered the biggest cable news audience, averaging 2,022,000 total viewers and 313,000 A25-54 viewers from 6:45-7:15 p.m. CNN’s interview, which ran from 5 to 6 p.m., had 521,000 total viewers and 115,000 A25-54 viewers.

Compared to the same time period the previous day, Fox News was up +23% in total viewers and +30% in the A25-54 demographic. CNN was up +32% in total viewers and +55% in the demo compared to the 5 p.m. hour Monday.

Fox came in first in both total viewers and the A25-54 demographic on cable news in the 6:45 to 7:15 half-hour. CNN came in second (behind Fox News) in both ratings metrics in the 5pmET time slot.

The re-air of Christiane Amanpour’s town hall interview — which aired from 9 to 10:30 p.m. because of additional commercial breaks — averaged 579,000 total viewers and 137,000 A25-54 viewers.
