‘Raising America with Kyra Phillips’ to Bow on HLN

By Chris Ariens

“Raising America” a new daytime show hosted by Kyra Phillips will debut February 4 at NoonET on HLN, TVNewser has learned.

Phillips, a 13-year CNN veteran joined HLN last summer. Phillips field anchored HLN’s RNC and DNC coverage, got the first interview with David Petraeus following his CIA resignation all while developing the show. The mother of twins with Fox News senior national correspondent John Roberts, Phillips told us at the DNC the new show will be “news through the parent’s perspective.”

“I have spent my whole career covering wars, going to the South Pole, doing investigative pieces, doing high-profile interviews with world leaders,” Phillips said. “Now I am a mom, I am a mom in my mid-40s, and my husband, and my kids and my family are so important to me. I am taking the two things that I love, my journalism background, combined with being a mom, and I am going to fold that into the new show.”

HLN is increasingly using the theme of America in its shows. “Making it in America” airs daily at 4pmET while Ty Pennington will host the monthly “American Journey” on the network.
