Rainy Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting Hits 6-Year Ratings High

Last night’s Christmas in Rockefeller Center special hosted by the Today show’s Savannah Guthrie, Matt Lauer, Al Roker and Hoda Kotb, won its time period last night in total viewers and was up +30 percent vs. last year’s special.

The one-hour special (2 hours in some markets, starting at 7 p.m. ET) drew 10.511 million total viewers vs. 8.071 million last year. That’s the best since 2010’s 11.26 million. The special scored a 1.7 rating in the Adults 18-49 demo, up +13 percent from last year’s 1.5.

The rain-soaked event gave a boost to the timeslot’s season-to-date average: up +106% in total viewers (10.511 million vs. 5.098 million).
