Rachel Maddow IraqRachel Maddow is taking aim at the media, including her network, for giving airtime and voice to former Bush officials and foreign policy pundits known for advocating action in the buildup to the Iraq War.

Paul Bremer in the Wall Street Journal, and on CNN, and here on MSNBC; Paul Wolfowitz on MSNBC and on ‘Meet the Press,” Maddow said last night, rolling off other names she thinks got it wrong on Iraq now reemerging in the media with their prescriptions for today’s violence in Iraq, including Senator John McCain, Fox News’ Judith Miller, Bill Kristol, and the Brookings Institute’s Kenneth Pollack and Robert Kagan.

“Hey Sunday shows, hey op-ed pages, hey cable news, hey everybody…We know you are tempted to keep booking these yahoos on these subjects, but if you keep turning to the people who were famously wrong about Iraq to ask them what to do about Iraq, you at least will be laughed at, and you will be embarrassed that you did this, and you will eventually have to apologize.”

Maddow’s take on the media’s shoddy Iraq coverage starts around the 13:40 mark.
