Quick on Obama: ‘Using the A-word when you are on the Today Show … yeah, that disturbs me’

Not everyone is happy with Pres. Obama’s desire — or at least his wording — of giving an ass-kicking to the oil spillers. In an interview with Matt Lauer in Michigan yesterday, the “Today” show host talked about critics who say the president spent too much time meeting with “experts and advisers” rather than being in the Gulf, to, in Lauer’s words, “kick some butt.”

“We talk to these folks because they potentially have the best answers as to whose ass to kick,” responded Obama. Here’s the clip:

Well this morning on CNBC’s Squawk Box, co-host Becky Quick wasn’t sold on the president’s tone: “If you’re the president of the United States and you go on the Today Show which is a morning show, where you’re going to have a lot of kids sitting around watching this, I think you choose your words more carefully,” said Quick. “Using the A word when you are on the Today Show talking with Matt Lauer, yeah, that disturbs me. But I also think that this is a way of trying to prove that I’m mad, to do exactly what everybody’s been pushing me to do, and it doesn’t ring true.”
