Producer Changes at ‘CBS This Morning’

By Chris Ariens

“CBS This Morning” EP Chris Licht has made some top producer changes at the 11-month old morning show.

Brian Applegate has been named senior broadcast producer and Matthew Glick is a new senior producer overseeing guest bookings.

Applegate had been EP for CBS News’ overnight show “Up to the Minute” and the 4am “CBS Morning News.” Glick joins CBS News from NBC News where he was part of the team that helped launch “Rock Center with Brian Williams.” Glick is also a “Today” show alum.

The current Senior Broadcast Producer Tom Mazzarelli will be leaving the show, but staying on through the run of his contract. There is speculation he might return to NBC’s “Today” show where he was senior producer from 2003-2006. A return to “Today” would reunite him with Don Nash, who was named Executive Producer of “Today” earlier this month and who officially takes the reins next Monday.

Mazzarelli joined CBS News in 2008 as senior producer of “The Early Show.”
