Primetime Changes Coming To MSNBC This Summer; 1 Or 2 Hours Of Long-Form

By Brian

“I think we’re going to have some program changes this summer,” NBC News prez Steve Capus tells the New York Times in this must-read about MSNBC’s new leadership. “Prime time is the focus. That’s where the money is,” Capus adds.

What sort of program changes? A “senior NBC executive” (read: Capus?) said “there will probably be one to two hours of long-form taped shows every night in prime time.” (He wouldn’t go on the record “because the decisions were not final and would affect some of the prime-time hosts.”)

Obviously Hardball and Countdown won’t be impacted. Rita Cosby and Joe Scarborough‘s shows appear to be in jeopardy. Could they be moved earlier in the day?…
