Pres. Obama Announces New Executive Action on Immigration Reform

ObamaNBC News and ABC News provided special coverage of President Obama’s statement on immigration reform this afternoon, where the president announced new executive action he will take. CBS News didn’t provide special coverage.

“America can not wait forever for them [House Republicans] to act,” the president said before announcing he is moving available resources from America’s interior to the Mexican border. The president said he’s also instructing Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson and Attorney General Eric Holder to formulate additional recommendations for executive actions he can take.

NBC News broke in at 3:01pmET with “Nightly News” anchor Brian Williams anchoring in New York and senior White House correspondent Chris Jansing reporting from the White House. ABC News cut in at 3:01pmET with recently-named “World News” anchor David Muir anchoring in New York and senior national correspondent Jim Avila reporting from the White House.
