Pres. Donald Trump‘s wide-ranging, media-bashing, 80-minute news conference drew big league ratings Thursday. “I do get good ratings, you have to admit that,” Trump said 40 minutes into the briefing.

A combined 5.6 million watched the midday news conference on the big three cable news channels alone. ABC, NBC, and CBS also carried the event on TV, as did CNBC and FBN, and multiple websites streamed it live adding millions more viewers. Fox News was most-watched on cable:

Versus the same time period last Thursday, the news conference boosted Fox News’s viewership by 50 percent; CNN was up 42 percent; and MSNBC was up 21 percent.

“I know how good everyone’s ratings are but I think that actually it would be better,” said Trump if the news media gave him a fair shake, which he says they don’t. “I think it should be straight. I think it would be more interesting,” he said. After arriving at Mar-a-Lago Friday afternoon, Trump’s disdain for the media continued:
