Patrick Stewart Talks About Playing a Cable News Host in ‘Blunt Talk’

By Mark Joyella

In a new video, Patrick Stewart talks about playing a troubled British journalist hosting an American cable news show in the upcoming Starz series Blunt Talk. Stewart describes his character, Walter Blunt, as passionate and talented, but “unfortunately, from time to time he has to sort out his rather chaotic personal life.”

That personal life includes a dysfunctional show team, a collection of ex-wives and children, and network bosses who have a hand in his every move. In the clip released by Starz, Blunt has a run-in with Los Angeles police, abuses alcohol and drugs, and appears to pass out on the set.

The series, set to debut August 22, has been green-lit for a two season, 20-episode run.
