O’Reilly on Early Show: “Of Course I Want Him To Succeed”

By SteveK

FNC’s Bill O’Reilly appeared this morning on CBS’ The Early Show to talk about the proposed stimulus plan. It was an “exclusive” interview (what, he wasn’t going on NBC too?), although we have a feeling he’ll be on a cable channel at some point tonight as well.

Besides plugging the book (now 17 weeks on the Bestsellers List) and Fox Business Network’s lawsuit against the Treasury Department, the conversation moved to whether he personally wants President Barack Obama to succeed.

“Of course I want him to succeed,” said O’Reilly. “I’m not an ideologue, you know that. Look, there’s an industry of right wing conservative politics. If you live in that industry, if that’s where you’re getting paid, you don’t want to see him succeed.”

On a side note, although he left the No Spin Zone to appear on CBS, he may not like the title of the CBSNews.com clip — “O’Reilly Spins Stimulus Plan.”
