Oregon Football Announcer Harrington Released from Hospital Following Bike Accident

Former Oregon and Detroit Lions quarterback Joey Harrington was released from a Portland, Oregon, hospital on Wednesday, four days after a bicycle accident with a SUV left him with a punctured lung, broken rib, broken collarbone and a laceration to his head — injuries which could have been much worse if the 33-year-old Harrington had not been wearing a helmet.

Harrington, the first-round pick of the Detroit Lions in 2002, is a color analyst for Oregon football games. The Portland native retired from the NFL in 2008, following stops in Detroit, Miami, Atlanta and New Orleans.
