‘Oprah’ Veteran named an EP of Anderson Cooper’s Daytime Show

Lisa Morin, who spent the last 15 years with “The Oprah Winfrey Show” has been named an executive producer of “Anderson,” the daily syndicated show hosted by CNN’s Anderson Cooper.

Morin, who was Senior Supervising Producer of “Oprah” will work alongside former “Good Morning America” Senior EP Jim Murphy on “Anderson.”

“I couldn’t be more excited to work with Anderson and I think there are sides to him that most people will be surprised to see,” says Morin in a press release. “Anderson is going to bring a breath of fresh air to daytime.” “Anderson” launches September 12.

‘Anderson’ Set to Premiere on Monday, September 12

NEW YORK, New York (June 8, 2011) – Lisa Morin has been named an Executive Producer of “Anderson,” the new one-hour daily strip hosted by Anderson Cooper, set to launch on September 12, 2011. Morin will serve in this role alongside Jim Murphy and Cooper, who are Executive Producers. The announcement was made today by Hilary Estey McLoughlin, President, Telepictures Productions.

“From the inception of this show, we knew we wanted to have a combination of producers from various genres to create a truly multi-dimensional show in order to capitalize on Anderson’s broad range and the variety of topics we plan to cover to distinguish it in daytime,” said Estey McLoughlin. “Lisa is one of the premier producers in talk television with a 15-year track record at ‘Oprah.’ Her daytime talk experience perfectly complements Jim’s morning show and news experience to create a great team to lead the show.”

“Lisa is a remarkable talent and I am so happy that she is joining our team,” said Cooper. “We want to create a really interesting, entertaining, and informative daytime program and Lisa has a terrific vision for the program and the experience needed to make it a reality. Morin has spent the past 15 years at ” The Oprah Winfrey Show,” most recently serving as Senior Supervising Producer, a position she has held since 2006. She also served as a Supervising Producer (2003-2006), Producer (1997-2003) and Senior Associate Producer (1996-1997) on the show. In addition, Morin served as Producer on “The Jenny Jones Show” (1993-1996).

Prior to this, Morin was a segment producer on ” The Home Show” (1990-1992) and a segment producer on “Good Company” (1987-1990). Morin graduated from the University of Minnesota with a B.A. in Business and Theater.

Anderson Cooper brings his experience as an award-winning journalist and storyteller, his passionate voice and personal perspective to “Anderson ,” the nationally syndicated, daily one-hour daytime talk show premiering September 12, 2011.

Anderson will cover a wide range of topics with provocative personal stories. Whether we’re discussing social issues, trends and events, pop culture, or human interest stories, Anderson will involve viewers in the studio audience and at home in a daily discussion that will be both informative and entertaining. Anderson will also interview celebrity guests, as well as experts to bring daytime viewers real information they can use in their own lives and overcome real life challenges.

With undercover investigations and hidden camera experiments, Anderson will offer a fresh perspective on issues and social trends affecting women’s lives. The show will be a daily destination for multiple generations of women, a place where viewers can gain insights, and connect with each other and the world around them.

“Anderson” will tape in front of a live studio audience at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s The Allen Room, a truly unique setting with views through a 50-by-90-foot floor-to-ceiling glass wall overlooking New York’s Central Park and Columbus Circle.
