On CNBC, Trump’s Treasury, Commerce Picks Confirm Their Roles

By Chris Ariens

Last night we go word that both Steve Mnuchin and Wilbur Ross were booked for CNBC’s Squawk Box at 7 a.m. ET.

The Trump campaign chose CNBC as the platform for both Mnuchin and Ross to confirm what has been speculated, that they’d been tapped by Pres.-elect Donald Trump for the top jobs in the administration: Mnuchin at Treasury and Ross at Commerce, “longtime friend of Squawk Box,” Ross was described on CNBC today.

“I don’t think the appointments are actually official yet, but can you gentlemen confirm this has happened?” Joe Kernen asked. “We can, indeed. We’re thrilled to be here and we’re thrilled to work for the president-elect and honored to have these positions,” Mnuchin responded.
