HLN followed its best Q3 with a strong October in younger viewers. And the network is on track for its best year in both Total Viewers and the A25-54 demo in both total day and prime time.

While the other networks are seeing sharp declines year over year compared to their 2008 election coverage, HLN has fared better.

In total day, HLN averaged 146k in the A25-54 demo, coming in second to Fox News. In prime time, HLN saw the least drop off in the demo and Total Viewers and finished in 3rd place ahead of CNN in the demo.

Nancy Grace is 15th highest rated program in the demo in all of cable news, the only non-FNC program aside from MSNBC’s “Countdown” in the top 15. “Showbiz Tonight” is 21st.

Joy Behar’s new show, which debuted in September was down -1% in Total Viewers and -6% in the demo for the 9pmET time slot year over year. Month to month, the program was down -2% in the demo, but up 4% in Total Viewers.
