NRA Ad Calls NBC’s David Gregory ‘Elitist Hypocrite’

A new ad from the National Rifle Association features NBC News anchor David Gregory, calling him an “elitist hypocrite,” apparently in response to his tough interview with NRA chief Wayne LaPierre.

It was during that interview that Gregory held up a 30-round rifle magazine, almost getting himself in legal trouble before the DC Attorney General decided not to press charges late last week.

The ad features Gregory next to gun control advocates like Vice president Biden and New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg. During the Presidential campaign, NBC and other outlets complained to the campaigns as their anchors and reporters were featured in ads.

More: The ad also puts Pres. Obama in the “elitist hypocrite” camp. White House press secretary Jay Carney responded calling the ad “repugnant.”

“Most Americans agree that a president’s children should not be used as pawns in a political fight. But to go so far as to make the safety of the President’s children the subject of an attack ad is repugnant and cowardly.”
