November Ratings: HLN’s “Best Year On Record”

CNN says Headline News continues to have “its best year on record.” The network experienced total viewer gains for Showbiz Tonight at 11pmET (+52%), Prime News with Erica Hill at 6pmET (+43%) and Nancy Grace at 8pmET (+26%).

After showing growth in October as well, CNN Worldwide EVP Ken Jautz told TVNewser the growth “doesn’t mean we’re just going to rest on our laurels.” Apparently, they’re not.

More Than 4 Million Total Viewers Tune in for CNN Democratic Debate in Las Vegas

With 2007 nearly complete, Headline News is posting its best year on record among total viewers (both total day and prime) as well as the P25-54 demographic (prime). The network’s stellar year is inclusive of its solid performance in November 2007, registering outstanding P2+ program gains over year-ago for Showbiz Tonight (+52%), Prime News with Erica Hill at 6p (+43%) and Nancy Grace at 8p (+26%).

Morning Express with Robin Meade had its best deliveries in nearly two years (since January 2006) in total viewers (231k). Headline News’ Glenn Beck posted the show’s best deliveries for a month at 9p in total viewers in November (P2+: 401k and P25-54:150k)

In its first three weeks in the 7p timeslot, Lou Dobbs Tonight posted CNN’s best delivery at 7p since Hurricane Katrina in September 2005 in total viewers. Lou Dobbs Tonight leads FNC and MSNBC for the most growth in total viewers for the month versus year ago.

CNN’s Democratic Debate at UNLV on November 15, was the highest rated debate, not only of the season, but in cable news history with more than 4 million total viewers and more than 1 million in the P25-54 demo tuning in.
