November 2014 Ratings: For First Time Ever Megyn Kelly is No. 1 Show in the Demo

FNClogo2Fox News Channel was the second most-watched cable channel, only topped by ESPN, in the month of November. FNC saw slight +2% growth for total day viewing, but experienced double-digit (+20%) growth in the A25-54 demo in primetime. FNC delivered its highest rated month since May 2013 in total viewers and April 2013 in the A25-54 demo, when the Boston Marathon bombing occurred.

The ratings for November, 2014 (Nielsen Live + Same Day data):

  • Primetime (Mon-Sun): 2,082,000 total viewers / 407,000 A25-54
  • Total Day Mon-Sun): 1,226,000 total viewers / 253,000 A25-54

“America’s Newsroom,” “Happening Now,” “The Five” and “Special Report with Bret Baier” all had their best months in two years, since Nov. 2012. “On the Record with Greta Van Susteren” and “Hannity” each had their best months in both viewers and the A25-54 demo since settling into new timeslots in Oct. 2013.

And for the first time ever “The Kelly File with Megyn Kelly,” was the No. 1 show on cable news in the A25-54 demo. The last time a host other than Bill O’Reilly has won the demo was in Oct. 2012, when the 10pmET hour, which included presidential debates, was No. 1. Fox News has now been the No. 1 cable news channel for 155 consecutive months in total viewers.
