‘Nightly’ Travels to LA for Wildfires

Tonight, NBC’s Brian Williams will anchor “Nightly News” from the lines of the wildfires in Southern California. “Nightly'”will broadcast from the command center at Lakeview Terrace in Los Angeles County, which is the center of the coordination effort for fighting the fires.

We understand Williams will be meeting pilots, commanders, and firefighters who’ve been closely involved with the effort.

So far, the fire has destroyed over 50 homes and threatened over 10,000 other buildings. Yesterday, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger spoke at Lakeview Terrace and said, “These fires are still totally out of control. This is a huge and is a very dangerous fire. The fire is moving very close to homes and to structures.” Some incredible photos.
