For the 2010-11 broadcast season, and for the first time ever, ABC News’ “Nightline” was #1 in Total Viewers (4.023 million), A25-54 viewers (1.649 million) and A18-49 viewers (1.277 million) in late night topping both NBC’s “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and CBS’ “The Late Show with David Letterman.”
Also, for May Sweeps, and for the first time ever, “Nightline” was #1 in two demos: A25-54 and A18-49. “Nightline” was also the most-watched late night show in May coming in first in Total Viewers. Compared to May 2010, “Nightline” is up +12% in Total Viewers and up 3% in A25-54 viewers.
ABC’s ratings are based on a 25-minute broadcast, while CBS and NBC are based on approximately :50 minutes (prior to the final national commercial break of each program).
