‘Nightline’ Sweeps Late Night For First Time at 12:35

By Chris Ariens

For the first time since it was moved into ABC’s 12:35amET timeslot more than two years ago, “Nightline” was the most watched show in all three key measurements last week: total viewers, and the A25-54 and A18-49 demos. The ABC News broadcast has taken the top spot in viewers in 14 of the last 15 weeks but is usually beaten by NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers” in the younger demos. Last week, “Late Night” aired repeats.

“Nightline” is also up double-digits vs. the same week last year in viewers (+17%) and both adult demos 25-54 (+11%) and 18-49 (+15%).

ABC’s ratings are based on a 25-minute broadcast, while CBS and NBC are based on approximately 50 minutes (prior to the final national commercial break of each program).
