In the final 11:35 p.m. broadcast of “Nightline,” anchor Cynthia McFadden wished Jimmy Kimmel well in his new timeslot.

“Don’t you worry: all the great stories you’ve enjoyed, and we’ve loved bringing you over the past 33 years, will be just one hour later,” McFadden said. “Jimmy Kimmel will be on at 11:35 Eastern. We’re sure hoping you’ll give Jimmy all the support you’ve given us. We wish him the best. And we hope you’ll stay up for us.”
