Nicolle Wallace Out as Co-Host of The View

Nicolle Wallace will leave her role as co-host of The View after one season, amid a series of changes at the long-running ABC daytime talk show. Wallace may return to the show as an occasional contributor.

A source close to the show tells TVNewser, “Nicolle brings wit and intelligence to the table, she works hard, and she’s a terrific political analyst.”

According to a report in Variety, “the former communications chief for George W. Bush was selected as the resident Republican on the show in September, but underwhelmed ABC bosses by not offering enough dissent about political issues and continually voicing her lack of knowledge about celebrities.”

Comedian Michelle Collins was named a co-host of The View on Monday, and Raven-Symoné was named a co-host last month.

Co-host Rosie Perez, meanwhile, is leaving the show at the end of the current season.
