Nicolle Wallace to Host MSNBC’s 4 p.m. Show

By Chris Ariens

Nicolle Wallace will take over MSNBC’s 4 p.m. hour as the network continues a dayside remake.

After working as Pres. George W. Bush‘s communications director, Wallace has had TV gigs at CBS News, ABC News, and as a moderator on The View. She joined NBC News and MSNBC in the lead up to the 2016 elections and has been a leading political analyst on all programs and has recently been filling in for Brian Williams on The 11th Hour.

Steve Kornacki, who has been hosting the 4 p.m. for much of the last year, will continue to contribute to the revamped hour, which begins in May, MSNBC says. He’ll also move into a larger role providing analysis for both MSNBC and NBC News.

“There’s never been a more exciting or stunning time in American politics,” said Wallace in a statement. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to have a daily conversation with our viewers about every dramatic twist and turn.”

“We’re thrilled Nicolle stepping into this spot with Steve at her side,” said Phil Griffin, President of MSNBC.

The 4 p.m. change comes a week after MSNBC’s 3 p.m. anchor Kate Snow left the network to report full time for NBC News, including for Megyn Kelly‘s new Sunday night newsmagazine which debuts in June.

The news of Wallace’s dayside move was first reported by Politico Playbook.
