Networks Break In With News of Nancy Reagan’s Death

The death of former First Lady Nancy Reagan has cable and broadcast networks preparing special coverage. NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt and ABC’s World News Tonight anchor David Muir will be in to anchor this evening.

Fox News chief political anchor Bret Baier is anchoring a special hour on Reagan, and Yahoo global news anchor Katie Couric will host a special live show on the former First Lady beginning at 5 p.m. ET.

Screen Shot 2016-03-06 at 1.35.34 PMOn cable, Howie Kurtz reported the Reagan story first, at 11:40 a.m. ET during Media Buzz, followed quickly by MSNBC, which broke away from an interview with Bernie Sanders‘ campaign spokesperson to go to correspondent Kasie Hunt, who reported Reagan’s passing at 11:41 a.m. ET.

CNN’s Wolf Blitzer reported the story, breaking in to Reliable Sources at 11:49 a.m. ET.
