Networks Break In to Cover Hillary Clinton Incident

NBC News produced a special report at 11:12 a.m. ET, anchored by Lester Holt, reporting on Hillary Clinton‘s sudden departure from the 9/11 memorial ceremony in Lower Manhattan.

“Secretary Clinton attended the September 11th Commemoration Ceremony for just an hour and thirty minutes this morning to pay her respects and greet some of the families of the fallen,” said a Clinton campaign statement. “During the ceremony, she felt overheated so departed to go to her daughter’s apartment, and is feeling much better.”

NBC’s special report included correspondent Hallie Jackson and Andrea Mitchell.

Screen Shot 2016-09-11 at 11.21.29 AMFox News was first to report the Clinton incident at 10:10 a.m. ET, with correspondent Rick Leventhal citing a “law enforcement source who was there, who was 15 feet away” and saw Clinton “stumble off the curb” while waiting for her motorcade and “appeared to faint.”

Clinton emerged around 11:45, saying it was “a beautiful day in New York,” but ignoring questions about what happened earlier.
