Nets Take Spitzer Announcement The Old Fashioned Way

It lasted just over a minute, and he didn’t take any questions, but the cable news networks had to rely on a phone connection to deliver the first statement from New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer since the news broke of his involvement in a prostitution ring.

Spitzer delivered his apology at 3:13pmET from his New York office which is on the 38th floor of a building on Third Avenue, too high to provide a live shot without ample set-up time. The networks took the audio-only feed first, and were able to play-back the video about 10 minutes later. FNC, however, streamed live video via mobile.
