NBC Trying To Consolidate Dallas Spaces

An NBC insider confirms this rumor:

“NBC is seriously considering moving their bureau to the O&O offices, located in Fort Worth, 30 miles west of Dallas. On Wednesday, the Sr. VP of Worldwide Newsgathering David Verdi met with the News Director at NBC 5 and brought the NBC News team to tour the station and newsroom. Don’t be surprised if you find out that their closing their officies in Dallas and moving to Fort Worth.

It’s all in a sophisticated effort to intergrate all NBC Universal properties into as few buildings as possible. Telemundo 39, the Telemundo O&O in Dallas shut down their old studio their and moved into the main Fort Worth office earlier this year. NBC Universal employees and the Telemundo Content Center — which services Houston, San Antonio and El Paso — are already here as well. NBCU at one point had 7 buildings scattered over the D/FW area. Now they’re down to just two, the Fort Worth main office and the Dallas office. NBC 5 will not be shutting down in Dallas at all, but NBC News would be moving their bureau, and their bureau only, to Fort Worth.”
