NBC’s Jim Miklaszewksi reported former Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl “will be charged with desertion” adding that charges “could be referred within a week” back on January 27. That night on “Nightly News,” Brian Williams softened the language saying that Bergdahl “will likely soon be charged with desertion,” adding “no final decisions have been made.”
At the time, the Pentagon denied the report, even calling it “irresponsible coverage.” Well, today Bergdahl’s lawyer announced he will be charged with desertion and misbehavior before the enemy.
So, NBC News was right all along. Or lucky. Or both.
UPDATE: It should be noted that Fox News also reported the story back in January and the Pentagon denied the FNC report, in addition to the NBC News report. So, it appears FNC was also right all along. Or Lucky. Or both.
