NBC News to Produce Prime Time Super Tuesday Specials

By Chris Ariens

Until now, most of the 2016 primary and caucus night coverage has been left to the cable news networks. But NBC announced today Lester Holt will anchor an hour in prime time next week for Super Tuesday coverage. The special will air at 10 p.m. ET, with other live specials for the Mountain and Pacific time zones.

Holt, joined by NBC News political director and Meet the Press moderator Chuck Todd and Today show co-anchor Savannah Guthrie will cover the contests in Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont and Virginia. Holt will also anchor live updates of Nightly News as the results come in.

Tonight, NBC was to be the host for their first GOP debate. Instead, the RNC gave the debate to CNN, for reasons you can read about here.
