NBC News Takes Home Top Murrow Award, ABC News, CBS News and CNN Also Honored

RTDNA announced the winners of its 2011 Edward R. Murrow Awards, and the broadcast news divisions were once again the big winners.

NBC News took home the top prize, the award for “Overall Excellence” for the third straight year. NBC also took home three other awards, with “NBC Nightly News” winning for “Best Newscast,” “Today” winning for “Best Use of Video” and “Dateline” for “Best News Documentary.”

CBS News took home a trio of awards, including one for “Best Video Feature Reporting” for “Jan’s Story” “Best Video Reporting: Hard News” for “60 Minutes” and “Best Video News Series.”

ABC News won for “Best Video Continuing Coverage” for Brian Ross’ investigation into Toyota. CNN also won for “Best Website.”
