By Chris Ariens

nbcnews130NBC News is making cuts in its Southeast Region Bureau, headquartered in Atlanta, as it moves resources to Miami. The staff in Atlanta was informed of the changes Thursday. At least 10 people are affected. They will either move to Miami or be out of a job. A reporting team will remain in Atlanta to cover the region.

“NBC News has recently made a significant investment in our Miami bureau, including building a new state of the art facility, with the purpose of making it our main presence in the southeast region,” an NBC News spokesperson tells TVNewser. “As a result, some of the staff in the Atlanta bureau will be affected and we are trying to identify other roles for them in the company.”
