NBC News Hires New Network Correspondent

By Brian Flood

NBC News has hired Steve Patterson as a network correspondent. Patterson started his career as an intern at the CBS Evening News back in 2007 and has made stops at WZZM 13 in Michigan, KSDK-TV in St. Louis and CBS3 in Philadelphia.

TVNewser has obtained an internal memo that NBC worldwide newsgathering svp David Verdi sent to his staff:

I am pleased to announce that Steve Patterson will join NBC News as a network correspondent starting in January.

Steve comes to us from CBS3 in Philadelphia, where he covered such high-profile stories as the 2015 Amtrak accident and the fatal car crash that injured comedian Tracy Morgan. Before moving to Philadelphia, he worked for KSDK in St. Louis, MO as a general assignment reporter. He will initially report from our Los Angeles bureau, but expect to see him rotate through other regions as well.

Steve’s enthusiasm for enterprising reporting, investigations, and exclusive scoops will be a valuable addition to our accomplished team of correspondents and the whole news division.

Please join me in welcoming Steve to NBC News.

David
